Henderson Placed On IR

The Minnesota Vikings placed Henderson on season-ending injured reserve today, according to the Star Tribune. The exact nature of Henderson’s injury isn’t yet clear but we’ll keep following the situation. Henderson was hurt in the Vikings’ loss at Tennessee on Sept. 28 and had his foot in a protective boot last week.

Rams Place McMichael On IR

The St. Louis Rams have placed tight end Randy McMichael on injured reserve, ending his second season with the team. McMichael broke a leg bone on September 28 against the Bills. Joe Klopfenstein will replace McMichael in the starting lineup, and Daniel Fells will replace McMichael on the roster.

Marinelli Will Not Quit, But Won’t Argue If Fired

Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli will not quit as the team’s head coach, but he will not argue if he is fired. “I always look at authority, and I respect authority — which a lot of times doesn’t happen in this country,” Marinelli said at his press conference Monday, Oct. 6. “I look at authority, and I take my marching orders from there.” Marinelli spoke with owner William Clay Ford over the team’s Week 4 bye, but Marinelli’s long-term future did not come up.

Tomlinson Concedes Toe An Issue

Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson (toe) admitted following the team’s Week 5 game that his injured toe is hampering his production. “The toe is a vital part of the foot,” Tomlinson said. “It’s something you need. When that part is injured and it lingers on, it takes away from you being able to be productive in certain things.”

Simpson Found Guilty In Vegas Incident

The Associated Press reports former NFL RB O.J. Simpson was found guilty Friday, Oct. 3, of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room. Simpson was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos. Simpson could spend the rest of his life in prison. Sentencing was set for Dec. 5.
